eFootball™ 2023 v2.2.0 Patch Notes

Greetings to all soccer lovers from around the world.
Another 4 years have come and gone, and the grandest spectacle of world soccer is upon us once again. eFootball™ 2023 will also have many in-game Events at the ready, and we certainly hope you can join in! Now then, let's walk through the v2.2.0 update in detail.

Gameplay Fixes and Adjustments

With this version update, we made a number of playability enhancements to cater to both experienced veterans and newcomers to eFootball™ 2023.

Cursor Change Adjustments

The following adjustments regarding cursor changes have been implemented to allow for easier gameplay, especially for those who have just started their eFootball™ journey.

  • Implemented adjustments so that when Cursor Change is set to "Assisted", the cursor will automatically switch to a player who is near the ball and more suited to the flow of the play
  • Added a new Cursor Change option "Semi-Auto", which is equivalent to the pre-v2.2.0 "Assisted" option

In line with the above adjustments, users who had their Cursor Change option set to "Assisted" will see their settings changed to "Semi-Auto" after installing the v2.2.0 update.
We have also made various adjustments to other Cursor Change options, in an effort to ensure that cursor switches will be performed in a more intuitive manner.

To configure your Cursor Change option:

For console and PC
  1. First, select your controller and configuration by going to [Extras] > [Game Settings] > [Controller].
  2. Then select [Advanced Settings] from the settings menu. You can configure your Cursor Change option under [Cursor Change].
For mobile
  1. Configure your Cursor Change option by selecting [Extras] > [Game Settings] > [Play Settings] > [Cursor Change].

Passing Speed Adjustments for Low Pass

We are aware of an issue where low passes may become excessively slow during passing plays in the defense line or in scenarios where opposing players are near. To address this issue, the overall speed of low passes was slightly increased. Moreover, we have implemented adjustments to assist the passing speed of low passes for certain in-match scenarios.
These adjustments will now allow for smoother buildups from the defense line, and you can also enjoy breaking down the opposition defense with speedy link-up passing plays.

Furthermore, we have implemented adjustments to one-touch passing so that the ball's resiliency is more thoroughly reflected. You can now return a pass towards its original direction with a speedier one-touch pass than before. Experience the exhilaration and satisfaction of breaking down the opposition's defense with speedy pass exchanges in the final third.

Adjustments Regarding Manual Pass Level "3"

For those who wish to experiment with more passing freedom, we have implemented adjustments to the speed of low passes for Manual Pass Level "3".
Previously for Manual Pass Level "1" to "3", differing degrees of assistance were added to the speed of passes. The former gameplay design had it that the higher the Level, the more the Power Gauge was taken into account and the less the assistance added; With these new adjustments, Manual Pass Level "3" will now instead see the speed of low passes being completely dependent on the Power Gauge, with no further assistance added.

Note that for Manual Pass Level "1" and "2", pass speed assistance will still be implemented as before. On the same note, Manual Pass Level "4" will still see all variations of passes being completely dependent on the Power Gauge input.

To change the Manual Pass Level:
  1. First, select your controller and configuration by going to [Extras] > [Game Settings] > [Controller].
  2. Then select [Advanced Settings] from the settings menu. You can configure your Manual Pass Level option under [Manual Pass Level].

Dribbling Maneuverability Enhancements

We have also made some enhancements to the maneuverability of dribbling.
Transitions between regular dribble and Dash Dribble are now more responsive, and directional inputs are now more thoroughly reflected in terms of ball controls. We have also reduced the inertia applied to small angle turns when dribbling in high speed. Furthermore, players will now be less likely to lose their balance when dribbling past opposing players amid body contacts.
These enhancements serve to maximize the exhilaration experienced when blazing past opponents through rhythmic dribbling.

Enhanced Effect of Dipping Shot and Rising Shot

Taking the current shot-on-target rate and goal-scoring rate into account, we have decided to implement shot accuracy adjustments for Player Skills "Dipping Shot" and "Rising Shots".
Also, when attempting volleys off rebounds, such as second balls from corner kicks, you may now see your volley shots travel in a sharp and dipping trajectory.Until now, this kind of dipping trajectory could only be triggered by Stunning Shots. This has been changed so that this particular type of ball rotation is also applied to regular shots.However, players with the Player Skill "Dipping Shot" will be able to attempt these kinds of shots with greater accuracy.

Positioning Adjustments

Adjustments have been implemented to make positioning into open spaces even easier. Moreover, players placed in central positions in Game Plan will be less likely to move towards the flanks. In addition, fullbacks will position themselves in a more defensive-oriented manner when they are on the opposite side of the ball.
These adjustments have allowed for a wider range of tactical maneuvers, such as placing players on the flanks to widen the opposition's defense line, or in the middle of the park to pose a direct threat towards goal.

General Fixes Applied to Mitigate or Eliminate the Bugs Shown Below

・ The application may crash due to an error.
・ In the stadium selection menu, the stadium displayed may not match the configured Time and Season.
・ When using certain teams in matches, Uniforms of similar colors may be selected by default.
・ When restarting the match with a seamless corner kick, the graphics of the kicker and the camera staff may overlap.
・ Direct free-kicks and goal kicks that directly end up in the goal of user's own team are deemed as own goals.
・ If the number of remaining substitution intervals is 0, substitutions cannot be made from Game Plan before kickoff at the start of the second half, or both halves of extra time.
[Xbox Only]・ Users who are invited to a Friend Match may not be able to move to the Match Room.
・ After winning a Dream Team match due to disconnection, the sound effects in the post-match Exp. Gain screen are not played correctly.
・ After canceling the matchmaking process of a Friend Match, an unrelated alert message may be displayed.
・ After closing a Match Room in Friend Match, an unrelated alert message may be displayed.
[Xbox Only]・ In Friend Match, the [Invite to Game] option may not work.
・ Parts of player names are not displayed on Player Cards.
・ When performing certain commands, some menu sound effects may erroneously play.
・ After purchasing a Pack, the "Objective Completed" message is erroneously displayed even though the related Objective has yet to be completed.
・ In the player signing animation of players whose clubs are affiliated with the AFC Champions League, the tournament emblem is not displayed.
・ In Training, changing the PK Kicker will result in the Aiming Guide becoming hidden.
・ In Training, defenders may move unnaturally during corner kicks.
・ When starting Training mode, the Camera Settings applied are different from the configured settings.
・ Command guides displayed under [Extras] > [Training] > [Free Training] may not be in the same order as the actual commands.

・ After scoring a goal, the Player Card may not be displayed in the intended display position due to the screen ratio of the device.

・ In [eFootball™ World] > [My Team] > [Uniforms], the Uniform display is not consistent.

・ When performing "Auto-pick Players" in the pre-match Game Plan in Trial Match, reserve players may be placed in either the starting lineup or as substitutes and cannot be put back into the reserves.
・ In Events under [eFootball™ World] > [Authentic], players' squad numbers may differ from the official squad numbers.
・ When performing Progression Points allocation in the post-match Exp. Gain screen, the Points on the top-right hand corner of the screen may not be displayed.
・ After canceling the matchmaking process of a Friend Match, an unrelated alert message may be displayed.
・ After closing a Match Room in Friend Match, an unrelated alert message may be displayed.
・ In the Level Training Tutorial, the orange mark does not disappear even after completing Level Training.
・ After purchasing a Pack, the "Objective Completed" message is erroneously displayed even though the related Objective has yet to be completed.
・ On certain screens, the title listed at the top of the screen does not match with the content.

Global Improvements

・ Implemented changes to Friend Match so that when one user returns to the Match Room after the end of a match, the other user who is still remaining on the results screen will see a notification at the top of the screen.
・ Implemented adjustments to the point-allocation algorithm of the [Auto-allocate] option in Player Progression.
・ A variety of minor adjustments have been made to each mode and to matches with the aim of improving the overall gaming experience.
