Konami Sports Offers "Refreshing Class with Do-Re-Mi," a Combination of Music Therapy and Exercise to Prevent Dementia

Konami Sports has offered a program for the elderly called "Refreshing Class with Do-Re-Mi" since May 2019, which combines elements of exercise and music therapy to prevent dementia. The program is one of several general preventive care projects in 2019, commissioned by Soka, Saitama Prefecture.

The program has been developed through a collaboration between Konami Sports, who has a wealth of expertise gained from years of health management services, and the Leaf Music Therapy Center, which provides music therapy services.

Aiming to prevent cognitive decline, the program is modeled after fitness clubs, which excel at creating positive communities and exercise routines that combine multiple tasks. This offers the elderly, who cannot or are not good at exercise, an opportunity to sing and dance to music, which helps them to remember the past.

Konami Sports will continue to provide health-promoting services such as exercise programs for seniors to help local governments find preventative measures against dementia, and provide better care for the elderly.
