This is a very flexible effect, as you can choose "Ancient Gear" monsters, Spell Cards, or Trap Cards according to your strategy.
Since this card's name becomes "Ancient Gear Golem" while it's on the field or in the Graveyard, adding "Ancient Gear Fusion" to your hand with the effect makes it possible to Fusion Summon "Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem" by using "Ancient Gear Dark Golem" on your field and "Ancient Gear" monsters from your Deck!

It also has a "switch out" effect, usable when your opponent activates an effect - you can return 1 Xyz Monster attached to this card that you own to the Extra Deck, then Special Summon (treated as an Xyz Summon) that monster from your Extra Deck using this card as material!
After Xyz Summoning "Exosister Mikailis" with this effect, you can use its effect to banish yet another card from your opponent's field or Graveyard!

Include other Level 4 monsters in your Deck and you'll have an easy way to Xyz Summon Rank 4 Xyz Monsters!
