The population has exploded, pollution has grown steadily worse, and natural resources are drying up. Unable to continue life on such a small planet as Earth, mankind pushes out into space. The Moon and Mars are incapable of supporting the entire population, so man eventually extends its reach to Jupiter. A torus space colony called Antilia is built at the L5 Lagrangian point of Jupiter and Europa to support mining operations. Man's farthest outpost in its sphere of existence, Antilia houses approximately 100,000 residents involved in mining and transport. It also serves as a development outpost for BAHRAM, the military organization of the Martian anti-Earth state, Vascilia County.
Antilia is mankind's farthest outpost, and allies itself neither with nor against Earth. Since Nereidum Universal Technology (NUT) and BAHRAM lost their development outpost during the Deimos Incident, they see Antilia as a perfect opportunity to establish an R&D facility for Orbital Frames, humanoid weapons surpassing LEV mecha. Their two most advanced Orbital Frames, Jehuty and Anubis, conceal incredible offensive capabilities plus a certain something of even greater importance. After learning of their existence, the United Nations Space Force occupies Antilia and takes possession of Jehuty and Anubis.
BAHRAM has a lot invested in Jehuty and Anubis, and they set out to reclaim the two machines. They dispatch a company of Orbital Frames which quickly annihilate the UNSF's LEV units and take control of Antilia. Led by Colonel Nohman and his aide-de-camp Lieutenant Viola Gyune, this is BAHRAM's main force, and they strike without mercy. In the midst of the chaos, colonist youngster Leo Stenbuck witnesses his friends die at BAHRAM's hands. Heartbroken and angry at this pointless slaughter, blaming himself for his friends' deaths, Leo flees the scene.
In a panic, Leo inadvertently climbs into Jehuty and has to learn the controls from on-board A.I. "ADA" as BAHRAM attacks. This is all it takes for Leo to become BAHRAM's new target in their mission to steal back Jehuty. A UNSF special unit aboard the Atlantis is in the process of trying to recover Jehuty and Anubis, and its second-in-command, Elena Weinberg, asks Leo to transport Jehuty from the military facility where it is to the Space Port. Leo agrees to deliver the Orbital Frame to the Atlantis when Elena assures him BAHRAM will leave Antilia if they're chasing Jehuty.
However, Jehuty has only just been activated and is not yet complete. To compensate for shortcomings in its programming, Leo must search for parts for Jehuty around the colony. While doing so he spots a girl trapped in a residential area surrounded by flames. Her name is Celvice Klein. She is trying to make it to an orphanage to ensure that no children were left behind. Leo saves her, and the two climb into Jehuty before going to rendezvous with the UNSF. Will these innocent youths caught in the middle of war make it safely to the Space Port?
