KONAMI is providing support for the development and upgrading of education and research and the training of human resources in the fields of IT and health for the purpose of contributing to the development of the digital media culture.
The multi-purpose "Konami Hall" that KONAMI donated to Osaka Electro-Communication University by KONAMI, seats 950 and is equipped with state-of-the-art IT and visual equipment, including a large projector screen, that support all kinds of media, including high-definition video, DVD, and the Internet. It is used for various academic and cultural events.
KONAMI sends active creators to the university as guest lecturers to give special lectures for the purpose of helping students aspiring to work in the entertainment industry to understand both the excitement and the difficulties of the actual work involved and encourage students to be outgoing and take up challenges after graduation. Outstanding personnelare also sent to the university as faculty members as part of KONAMI's commitment to training the human resources that will lead the way in the information society of tomorrow.
KONAMI is also engaged in health and exercise instruction at sports clubs and the development and manufacture of health-related equipment against the backdrop of increased public interest in health and exercise, including dieting and the prevention of metabolic syndrome and other lifestyle-related diseases. As part of such efforts, KONAMI is cooperating with class management in the Department of Health and Sports Science at the university to turn out outstanding human resources for the health industry and supporting R&D of new health-related equipment.
