Story

The story begins when a hero turns.

Once a renowned hero, now a violent tyrant. The Empire's future turns bleaker by the day, and at last, a Liberation Army rises up against the oppressive rule.

One by one, the 108 Stars of Heaven and Earth gather to shape the course of their history. People harbor their own beliefs under two flags, that of the Liberation Army or the Empire.

Ideals, honor, friendship, loyalty, love, ambition... Various thoughts drive the souls to the battlefield. Once all the fighting concludes, what will be left within their hands...?

Prologue

You, the son of Teo McDohl, one of the Five Great Generals, have a nervous expression on your face as you feel the time slowly ticking away. Your audience with the Golden Emperor Barbarossa is imminent. You gaze around the antechamber, abruptly exchanging glances with your father. His rugged but gentle eyes tell you all will be fine. The nerves drift away like a receding wave, replaced with a warm sense of security. Your thoughts shift to memories of days gone by.

Gremio, your valet, has been like a mother to you since he himself lost his own mother at a young age.
You think back on your childhood, when you used to give Gremio trouble by being unreasonable.
Cleo is more than just a subordinate of your father's—she has spent time with you all like she was part of the family.
You were very apprehensive when your father first introduced you to Pahn. At that time, he was a fiery, bloodthirsty fighter.
However, when you realized the warmth hidden inside him, the apprehension faded and trust grew in its place.
And finally, Ted. Though you only met him a few years ago, his easygoing personality makes you feel like you have been friends since childhood. You put your confidence in him, just as he has placed his trust in you.
One thing of note; this cheerful youth occasionally has a glint of maturity in his eyes.

The female attendant's voice brings you back to reality.

Father has a deep voice and giant stature. He seems so overwhelming—you don't know if a day will ever come when you surpass your father.

Apple

A student at Mathiu's private school. From Mathiu she learnt the art of not winning battles, but ending them.
Alen

Commander of the Armored Cavalry of the Scarlet Moon Empire. He bears the Rage Rune and is known as the “Flame General” because of his intense personality.
Kasumi

A kunoichi from the Rokkaku Hamlet who bears the Shrike Rune. She came to tell the Hero about the crisis in the Hamlet.
Clive

A taciturn man carrying a mythical weapon the “Gun”. He belongs to a secret organization and is hunting down a woman who has committed a crime.
Glenshiel

Commander of the Armored Cavalry of the Scarlet Moon Empire. He bears the Thunder Rune and is known as the “Lightning General”. He has a good rivalry with Alen.
Stallion

Fast as lightning, he is very prideful of his speed. His goal is to become the fastest man in the world.
Tai Ho

A fisherman who has no interest in the policy of the Imperial Army nor the Liberation Army, but has eyes for trouble and fun.
Teo

One of the Five Great Generals known as the Unbeaten General. He has achieved numerous victories and dedicates his loyalty and trust to the emperor Barbarossa.
Tengaar

She is often frustrated by Hix's indecisiveness because of her own outspoken nature, but deep down she really wants to be protected by him.
Valeria

A lieutenant in the Scarlet Moon Imperial Army, known as "Blazing Valeria" for her fierce fighting style and red armor.
Viki

She’s a teleport magic specialist. Contrary to her serious appearance, she’s quite dreamy and sometimes makes strange comments.
Hix

He is a very timid young man who has feelings for Tengaar. He lacks self-confidence and is unable to be open with her.
Futch

A ninth rank dragon knight apprentice of the Dragon Knights, hoping to become a full-fledged dragon knight as soon as possible. His dragon’s name is Black.
Mathiu

A former military strategist of the Scarlet Moon Empire. His kind-hearted and thoughtful personality led him to open a children's school in the village of Seika.
Yam Koo

Tai Ho's sworn younger brother. He often has a hard time because Tai Ho acts without thinking, but he is a man with a big heart who can laugh it off.
Lepant

A distinguished well-rounded man blessed with wealth. He is usually mild-mannered but will show no mercy to those who harm his beloved family.
Luc

Leknaat's first disciple and the heir to one of the 27 True Runes, the "True Wind Rune". However, he can be difficult to get along with.
