Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “KONAMI”) and the World Baseball Softball Confederation (hereinafter “WBSC”) are pleased to announce that they have renewed their partnership, originally established in 2018, and strengthen initiatives aimed at expanding the global baseball fan base through esports.

Through this partnership, KONAMI has delivered the appeal of baseball to a wider audience by providing titles such as WBSC eBASEBALL™: POWER PROS and hosting competitions including the “WBSC eBaseball™ Series.” At the same time, KONAMI has been committed to creating new experiential value by combining real-world sports with digital innovation. In line with these efforts, KONAMI and WBSC have agreed to host a new global tournament, the “WBSC eBaseball™ Series 2026,” with eBaseball™: PRO SPIRIT, the latest title in the “Professional Baseball Spirits” series, as the official competition title. This initiative aims to further promote and develop baseball culture worldwide.

The newly selected title, eBaseball™: PRO SPIRIT, was launched in March 2026. While the previous competition title WBSC eBASEBALL™: POWER PROS was distributed across 62 countries and regions, this new title has significantly expanded its availability to approximately 200 countries and regions, more than tripling its global reach. In addition, by offering a free-to-play model, it creates an environment that allows a broader range of players to participate. These features have been widely praised, leading to its adoption as a title well-suited for large-scale global competition.

Furthermore, to promote community activation through esports, WBSC will introduce a system that enables tournament organizers of all sizes—from existing events to newly established competitions—to host WBSC-sanctioned tournaments around the world.

With this new system and competition title, the “WBSC eBaseball™ Series 2026” will be relaunched and is scheduled to kick off in July 2026. Further details of the tournament will be announced at a later date, and we kindly ask for your continued attention.
