The National Prefectural Competitive Esports Championship is a national esports tournament where prefectural representatives who have won their regional qualifiers compete against each other and has been held annually in the host city of the National Sports Festival (Kokutai) since 2019. Our soccer game, eFootball™, has been featured as one of the competition titles since the inaugural tournament. This year, to allow more players to participate, the competition was held across two platforms—mobile and console. In the finals, five teams from Chiba, Tokyo, Shizuoka, Kumamoto, and Shiga, the host prefecture, who had advanced through the qualifying rounds, competed for the championship.
The showdown in the finals was an intense battle between the Chiba Prefecture and Kumamoto Prefecture representatives. In the first match (console), UDI-, the eFootball™ world champion, faced off against Kuma, the winner of the National Prefectural Competitive Esports Championship 2021 MIE. Both titleholders refused to give an inch, going back and forth until UDI- finally scored the first goal. He managed to hold on to the lead to win. In the second match (mobile), Tatsumaki, the Kumamoto representative, scored first, setting up for a comeback, but eioh, the Chiba representative, responded with a goal of his own to make the overall score 2-1, resulting in a stunning victory for the Chiba team. This gutsy performance in the eFootball™ division ultimately led to Chiba winning the overall National Prefectural Competitive Esports Championship for the first time.

First of all, I'm just really happy. We've been competing in this National Prefectural Competitive Championship since the very first one, but we've never made it this far until now. It's a dream come true for us to join forces and win the whole thing for the first time.
eioh (mobile)
I didn't play all that great, but thankfully UDI- scored the first goal. I'm just glad we were able to hold on to that lead.
