Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. (KONAMI) is excited to announce that the prefectural qualifiers for the National Prefectural Competitive Esports Championship 2025 SHIGA, which uses eFootball™ as its competition title, will be held online starting next Monday, September 22.

The National Prefectural Competitive Esports Championship 2025 SHIGA is a national esports tournament where prefectural representatives who have won their regional qualifiers will compete against each other. Since 2019, the tournament has been held annually in the host city of the National Sports Festival. KONAMI's soccer game eFootball™ has been featured as one of the competition titles since the inaugural year. This year, in order to get more players to participate, the tournament will be held on two platforms: mobile and home consoles. Cross-platform play will also be supported on consoles starting this year, allowing players to participate on PlayStation®, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam®.
The eFootball™ division prefectural qualifiers, which kick off next Monday, September 22, are an online tournament where one player from each of the mobile and console divisions will be selected from among those who have advanced through the in-game events from Rounds 1 to 4 to determine the representative teams for each prefecture. Each representative team will advance to the final tournament on Saturday, October 25. A total of five teams, including the winners of the four prefectures as well as the representative team of the host prefecture, Shiga, will compete in the main tournament, which begins on Saturday, November 22.
