The CEDEC AWARDS 2025 are a set of accolades that focus on technologies that have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of computer entertainment development and honor the achievements of developers from a technical perspective. The Grand Prize winner was selected by a vote of CEDEC attendees from a list of Excellence Award nominees, which was drafted in consultation between the CEDEC AWARDS Nomination Committee and the CEDEC Steering Committee.
"SILENT HILL 2," which won the Grand Prize, made full use of immersive audio technology to create a hauntingly real and terrifying experience through subtle environmental sounds and interactive sound design. The contrast between music and silence was particularly notable, with the ominous music heightening the tension, while the sound effects echoing in the silence further amplified the sense of dread. In addition, the fusion of cutting-edge technology and sound engineering to achieve the desired audio experience in line with the game design was highly praised and led to this award.

Also receiving an Excellence Award in the Sound Division was "Professional Baseball Spirits 2024-2025." This title uses voice synthesis technology to simulate a sports commentator and have it read out user-created player names and other information with a tone appropriate to the situation, significantly enhancing the immersion of the game. What's more, the flow between play-by-play commentary and analysis is fluid and natural, resulting in a high level of authenticity. In addition, the high level of attention to detail and fine-tuning of the acoustics, such as the noise of the stadium and the cheers of the spectators, received recognition and the award.

We are humbled and honored to receive this prestigious CEDEC Award. First and foremost, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who picked up and played "SILENT HILL 2." Your reactions and feedback were a great source of encouragement to us as developers. For the sound design of this game, we worked with our counterparts at Bloober Team to maximize the use of immersive audio technology to create a truly terrifying and engaging experience through sound. In addition, Mr. Akira Yamaoka's music, which created an atmosphere thick with silence and tension, was crucial in evoking the essence of SILENT HILL and indispensable to us. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the team members who were involved not only in the sound design but also in the production of the game as a whole. It was only through the passion and dedication of the entire team that "SILENT HILL 2" was completed. Encouraged by this award, we will continue to work even harder to deliver memorable experiences to our fans.
