About KONAMI’s esports initiatives
The eFootball™ series of soccer games has been beloved by players around the world since its birth in 1995 as the console Winning Eleven series. The eFootball™ series continues to attract attention as competition titles both in Japan and abroad, being featured in exhibition matches at the 18th Asian Games Jakarta-Palembang, the Inter-Prefectural Esports Championship held as part of the National Sports Festival Culture Program (for six consecutive years starting in Ibaraki in 2019), and the World Esports Championship hosted by the International Esports Federation (for six consecutive years starting in 2019). We are also expanding our efforts to combine esports and real sports by holding the eFootball™ Championship 2024 Club Event in collaboration with European professional soccer clubs, and co-hosting eJ.League eFootball™ with Japan Professional Football League (J.League), in which all 40 J1 and J2 clubs will participate.

About the eFootball™ series
eFootball™ is the rebranding of KONAMI’s popular Winning Eleven series. The change marked a great leap forward, as in addition to the new name, it received a new game engine, advancements in gameplay, and was revamped as a free-to-play title across all supported devices, including PlayStation®5. Users can enjoy a variety of content in eFootball™. In Dream Team Mode, they can build their very own squad, choosing from players lighting up the scoreboards in real matches, superstars active in major leagues or legends who have made their mark in soccer history. Users can also experience the thrill of competing alongside their friends online in Co-op Mode, which supports up to 3-on-3 play.
