Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. (KONAMI) is excited to announce the two eFootball™ series players who will represent Japan in the Esports Championships East Asia (ECEA), which begins in Korea on Friday, December 15.
The ECEA, now in its third year, is a trilateral esports competition between Japan, China and South Korea. Last year, the Japan teams emerged victorious in two titles, including the eFootball™ series, to become the overall champions. This year, the teams from the three nations will gather in Yeosu, South Korea to compete across four titles, including "eFootball™ 2024."
The eFootball™ series players who will compete in the ECEA are Takaki, who was the champion of the Inter-Prefectural Esports Championship 2023 KAGOSHIMA in November, and Rikkii, who came in third in the same competition. They will be joined by Mayageka, who also came in third in that competition, as their coach.
Under the guidance of Mayageka, who has a wealth of experience in international competition, what sort of play will Takaki and Rikkii put on against the players from China and South Korea? About the eFootball™ series
eFootball™ is the rebranding of KONAMI’s popular Winning Eleven series. The change marked a great leap forward, as in addition to the new name, it received a new game engine, advancements in gameplay, and was revamped as a free-to-play title across all supported devices, including PlayStation®5. Users can enjoy a variety of content in eFootball™. Club National Mode lets them take control of real-life powerhouse teams. In Dream Team Mode, they can build their very own squad, choosing from players lighting up the scoreboards in real matches, superstars active in major leagues or legends who have made their mark in football history.
