Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. announce the eFootball™ Series Division champion of the Inter-Prefectural Esports Championship 2023 KAGOSHIMA, a culture program held on Sunday, November 26 as part of the Special National Sports Festival Moyuru Kandou Kagoshima Kokutai—Kagoshima Taikai.

Representative for Kanagawa Prefecture, Takaki and Representative for Ehime Prefecture, Oshushi faced off in the heated eFootball™ Series Division Finals, with Takaki emerging victorious in impressive fashion, winning 3-0.

Winner’s remarks:
Takaki, representing Kanagawa Prefecture
I hadn’t won a finals since 2019, when I was selected for the National Sports Festival, so I was incredibly stoked to win this. When I scored the third goal, I couldn’t help but shout for joy.

Runner-up’s remarks:
Oshushi, representing Ehime Prefecture
I was disappointed that I lost but hats off to my opponent. He wiped the floor with me. He was really good.
At least I made it to the finals. That’s a first for me. I may not have won, but I still had a lot of fun. I’m going to practice hard for the next tournament and aim to come out on top.

In addition, the selection of the Japan team for the Esports Championships East Asia (ECEA), set for next month, took place during this competition. The ECEA is an international esports competition between Japan, China and South Korea, with this year’s event taking place in Yeosu, South Korea. The winner, Takaki, and the runner-up, Oshushi, have both tentatively agreed to represent Japan at the ECEA, so we hope you’ll continue to cheer them on.

Konami Digital Entertainment will continue to bring the fun and excitement of esports to fans everywhere through its related initiatives.
