Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. is excited to announce it will serve as partner for the Japan Professional Football League's (J.League's) Monthly MVP and Goal of the Month awards for the 2022 season. KONAMI has been a proud partner of the Monthly MVP award for four years running, beginning with the 2019 season, while the Goal of the Month partnership is an exciting new initiative that kicks off this season.
The Monthly MVP award is presented to the most outstanding player in each division (J1, J2 and J3) every month, as determined by a selection committee. As before, the recipients will be officially recognized as a “Meiji Yasuda J.League KONAMI Monthly MVP” (or “KONAMI Monthly MVP” for short).
Similarly, beginning this season, the Goal of the Month award will recognize the most remarkable goals every month, also determined by a selection committee. The official name of this award is the "Meiji Yasuda J.League KONAMI Goal of the Month" ("KONAMI Goal of the Month" for short).
As a J.League Top Partner, KONAMI has been proud to help promote Japanese soccer in a variety of ways. Last season, we held the awards ceremonies on a program broadcast by sports streaming service DAZN, interviewing the recipients and asking them to walk viewers through their most memorable moments of the month. We have also created content aimed at fans of both soccer and gaming, such as adding Monthly MVP recipients as special cards in our mobile game "J.League Club Championship."
Additionally, we are excited to announce our partnership with DAZN will continue this season. Details will be revealed on the "J.League Club Championship" website and its in-game Information page as they become available.
Through its partnership with J.League, Konami Digital Entertainment aims to broaden soccer’s appeal, bringing the fun and excitement of the sport to an ever greater audience.
