KONAMI Announces Gabriel "Gabigol" Barbosa as Newest Ambassador For eFootball™ 

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) today announced the signing of Gabriel Barbosa (Gabigol) as ambassador for its football video game franchise “eFootball™”.  The forward’s deadly finishing and dynamic versatility at the front has been a staple in the Brazilian’s game and have been put on display for world football clubs including Santos FC, FC Internazionale Milano (Inter Milan), the Brazilian National Team and Flamengo.

“I’m happy about my partnership with KONAMI. Previously we have done some great things to promote football, my country and the video game generation,” said Barbosa. “This time around we are hoping to do new, creative things that fans will not expect, for now just wait and see!” 

Gabigol’s professional career began as a 16-year-old phenomenon at iconic Brazilian club Santos FC, an organization with a pedigree for producing forwards with flash and flair. While in Peixe uniform, Gabigol caught the eyes of KONAMI early-on and quickly signed Barbosa to his first ambassador contract before his move to Inter Milan.
