KONAMI Holds a Special Exercise Program for Seniors to Continuously
Support Reconstruction of the Disaster Affected Areas
Helps promote healthy living for victims in Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture

July 13, 2016

KONAMI HOLDINGS CORPORATION

In an effort to continuously support the reconstruction of the affected areas by the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Konami Group holds a special exercise program for seniors in the city of Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture, starting July 13, 2016.

The Konami Group has engaged in a range of assistance efforts to support the reconstruction of the affected areas, such as donations (one hundred million yen), healthcare management carried out through our IT systems, and by conducting exercise classes. In addition, we continue to provide donations collected from all the Konami Group employees for the yearly restoration of the affected areas.

Although it has been five years since the Great East Japan Earthquake, many residents are still forced to live in temporary housing in the affected areas. Along with the change in the living environment after the disaster, conditions such as disuse syndrome and other stress-related illnesses, health and stress management of the victims have become vital issues.

By drawing on previously established expertise in our Health & Fitness business, we therefore will hold the exercise program for seniors to help prevent various disorders, such as disuse syndrome and locomotive syndrome of the elderly, in the city of Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture, a place where we have been working together to hold exercise classes since 2011. With the use of donations collected from all the Konami Group employees for running the program, the entire group strives to support the promotion of healthy living for the victims. We also plan to hold other programs, including "Kids Dancing Class" serving as anti-obesity initiatives for children in the affected areas of the Tohoku region, and an event featuring athletes affiliated with the Konami Sports Club Gymnastics and Swimming Teams.

As a good corporate citizen, the Konami Group will continue to conduct CSR activities, with the goal of contributing to the development of a sustainable society.
