Richard Jones, Development Strategy Manager at Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. commented: “We’re very excited to announce our partnership with KeelWorks. They’re a young, talented studio and it’s a real honour to work with them on such a great project as CYGNI. From the first time we played it, we knew it embodied the DNA of classic KONAMI games and one of our production programme goals is to work on games that evoke the spirit of those classics. CYGNI’s high octane gameplay, stylish design and beautiful graphics feel like a perfect modernisation of the shoot ’em up.”

Meher Kalenderian, Founder & CEO at KeelWorks Ltd commented: As a small indie company, KeelWorks was in need of an investment to grow its team and dedicate its full attention and time to the development of its first venture, CYGNI. Of all the publishers we spoke to, our communication with KONAMI was different from the start and it stood out among the rest. With a long and wide-ranging history of work on classic shmups, KONAMI immediately recognized the direction in which CYGNI was heading and decided to bet on its potential outcome.

However, what persuaded and encouraged us the most to commit with KONAMI, was its team’s eagerness to invest not just in the game itself, but also in the people behind it. We were both humbled and honoured by their approach. We’re absolutely delighted with this partnership and cannot wait to share more updates on CYGNI in due course!

CYGNI: All Guns Blazing is in active development for PC and consoles. Release window will be announced at a later date.

About CYGNI: All Guns Blazing

An unrelenting onslaught of eye-popping visuals, ear bursting soundscapes and mind-melting action makes CYGNI: All Guns Blazing the vanguard for the next generation of shoot ’em ups.

Outgunned and outmanned, plunge into a sky full of hell in a last-ditch war for survival. Choose to route energy between weapons or shield systems and go up against unrelenting waves of ground and aerial enemies. Upgrade your ship and take down colossal alien bosses in visceral combat; do whatever it takes to survive.

CYGNI assaults the eyes, ears, and mind to deliver an extraordinarily exhilarating video game experience. CYGNI does not seek to reinvent shoot ’em ups but to elevate the genre to deliver the heightened sensations of a truly next-generation experience.

Encamped within the remains of a long-lost civilization on the planet CYGNI, the colony is decimated by a surprise attack from a powerful, biomechanical alien race. As one of the last pilots on one of the very few remaining carriers in the fleet, you are the only line of defence against the unyielding alien bombardment.

  • With next generation visuals, animation and special effects CYGNI is a new benchmark in cinematic shoot ’em ups
  • Be the lone fighter, or one of two in local co-op, battling through intensely hostile levels filled with waves of air and ground assaults
  • Choose where to route energy on the fly switching between shields (defensive) or weapons systems (offensive)
  • Collect energy to power up your ship and energise weaponry from hard-hitting projectiles to an array of missiles.
  • Launch air-to-air and air-to-ground attacks as you traverse neon-lit metropolises, oceans and various otherworldly landscapes.
  • Go one-on-one against gargantuan enemies in cinematically epic boss battles
  • Full orchestral score and immersive sound design
