This summer, one duelist will be crowned "Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game" champion at the Yu-Gi-Oh! WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2016 in Florida!

Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. will hold the Yu-Gi-Oh! WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2016 on Saturday, August 20th and Sunday, August 21st at the Orange County Convention Center in Florida.

Held every year since 2003, the Yu-Gi-Oh! WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP is a tournament for the "Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game*1," and has served as a means to deepen communication with customers from around the globe. Players from Japan and other regions worldwide who made it through the qualifying round will come together to compete and find out who is the world’s greatest duelist (card game player).

KONAMI began releasing the "Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game" series in 1999. It is played and enjoyed in 75 countries and regions, translated into 9 different languages, and has attracted a great deal of popularity throughout the world, mainly in Japan, North America, South America, and Europe. The "Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game" is also known for being the world’s best-selling trading card game*2, with over 25.1 billion cards sold to date. The series has also expanded into mobile and console video games.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga's serialization, and will be commemorated with the movie "Yu-Gi-Oh! THE DARK SIDE OF DIMENSIONS" being released in Japan. "Yu-Gi-Oh!" fans rejoice in celebration!
