Tech Update – Tour Guide:

September 1st, 2012

One of the biggest changes to the Advanced Format Forbidden & Limited Cards List was the Semi-Limiting of Tour Guide from the Underworld.  Previously, Duelists running Tour Guide almost universally played three copies alongside Sangan, giving them a chance to resolve two Tour Guide effects in a single Duel.  Running Sangan gave access to a powerful search effect, and granted a fourth compatible Level 3 Fiend-Type that a Duelist wouldn’t mind having if they drew into it before Tour Guide Special Summoned it.

But with Tour Guide now down to two-per-Deck, Duelists have been forced to adapt if they still want to use her, and we’re seeing them do so in a variety of ways.  Here are five different game-plans we’re seeing on the tournament floor this afternoon.

Tech Update – September 1st:

The tournament is just getting started here at the Constitution Hall of the Metro Toronto Convention Center, but we’re already seeing some common trends and a lot of new tech cards set to make a huge impact this weekend, largely thanks to the new Advanced Format F&L List.  Here are six cards that players are talking about; playing; and banking on to help them achieve victory!

Tech Update: Popular Cards of Late

This will be the first YCS in the United States since the Forbidden & Limited Cards List was updated on March 1. Since the start of this month, Regional Qualifier attendance across North America has skyrocketed, with many locations reporting an increase in players of 50% or more from their previous events. Yu-Gi-Oh! is on a roll!

Since this is a brand new format it’s tough to say which Decks will be most dominant. But Duelists here this weekend are making predictions and teching out their Decks to beat the three Decks that were most popular at the end of the last format: Inzektors, Wind-Ups, and Dino Rabbit. Tech Update: Deck-Defining Cards from Photon Shockwave

Grapha Tech Update

Duelists of the mortal coil, I bear foreboding news! At long last, my Dark World army’s most secret weapon has arrived – my Dark Smog is finally ready to settle in!

This secret weapon has been in the making for some time. And once I managed to finalize the specifications of this weapon, my Dark World army and I needed to wait even longer for it get here!
