Top 4 Photo
Here are your Top 4 of YCS Meadowlands 2013.
Ben Leverett and Fisher Orlando are two of this weekend’s undefeated Dragon Duelists. These 12-year-olds have fought their way to the top of today’s tournament, and now one of them will gain the title of Sunday’s Dragon Duel Champion!
1581 Duelists have been eliminated, and only 2 remain. 23-year-old James Guerrero from Jersey City, New Jersey is Dueling against 19-year-old Tyree Tinsley from Richmond, Virginia in the Finals of YCS Meadowlands! Both of these Duelists are using Mermail Decks but only one of them can emerge as the champion. It’s time to Duel!
QQ stands for Quick Questions! There are lots of cool Xyz Monsters, and for many of them, there’s an even cooler form infused with chaotic energy. But not every Xyz Monster has a “CXyz” or “Number C” version of itself. I surveyed this weekend’s Duelists to see which Xyz Monster they’d like to see as a “CXyz” or “Number C” monster. Check out their responses!
QQ stands for Quick Questions! In the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series, the spirit of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh guided Yugi through his Duels to bring him to victory. In Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, Astral follows Yuma around to enable him to use Number cards and help him win his Duels. I surveyed this weekend’s competitors to see whether they’d rather be guided in their Duels by Astral or by the spirit of the pharaoh. Check out their responses!
Jeremy Macwan from Staten Island, New York is the last Inzektor Duelist in the tournament. Now he’s facing off against Mermail Duelist Christian Georges from Queens, New York. Only one of these Duelists will advance to the Top 8, and we’re about to find out which one it’ll be!
15-year-old Jeffrey Strain from Delaware held a 9-2 record at the end of the Swiss Rounds to earn his spot in the Top 32. But Japan’s Satoshi Kato won’t make advancement to the Top 16 easy for him; Kato secured a 10-1 record at the end of the Swiss Rounds and is now competing in his second United States YCS Top 32! Kato is competing in the tournament this weekend with an Infernity Deck newly empowered by Lavalval Chain from Hidden Arsenal 7: Knight of Stars! His opponent, Jeffrey Strain, is hoping that his Mermail Deck will be able to defeat Kato before Kato can pull off his Infernity combos. It’s time to Duel!
David Nguyen from Toronto and Karol Metryka from New Jersey are both 8-2 in the tournament and will need a victory in this round in order to maintain the hope of making it into the Top 32. But now they’re Dueling against one another, and only once of them can advance. Metryka is using a Fire Fist Deck that uses Sabersaurus, while Nguyen is playing an Elemental HERO Deck featuring A Hero Lives in the Main Deck as well as Bahamut Shark and Mermail Abysstrite in the Extra Deck. It’s time to Duel!
George Weber and Raymond Bauzon are both local New Jersey Duelists with 8-1 records. Weber is using an Evilswarm Deck that was recently made possible by Hidden Arsenal 7: Knight of Stars. Unlike the many of the Evilswarm Decks we featured earlier in the weekend, Weber has chosen to forego using Dinosaurs in his Decks, and is focused on an all-out Evilswarm strategy. His opponent, Raymond Bauzon, is using a Fire Fist Deck that includes Sabersaurus for access to Evolzar Laggia and Evolzar Dolkka. Fire Fists are generally tough for Evilswarms to defeat, given how easily Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Bear destroys Evilswarm Ophion; but Weber is looking to score an upset in this Match and secure a 9-1 record. It’s time to Duel!
