With the 2011 World Championship Qualifiers rapidly approaching as well as multiple Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series events being announced throughout the world, it’s as important as ever to learn every little trick you can to up your game. One of the biggest things that separate the best Duelists from the rest of the pack is their ability to keep their opponents in the dark. What that means is that a Duelist who is able to find the most efficient way to win the Duel while showing their opponent the least amount of cards in their Deck and, if possible, without giving away what type of Deck they are running at all, frequently has a better chance to win the Match than a Duelist who reveals his entire strategy immediately.
Infernity Decks are one of the newest competitive Decks, made possible by the release of The Shining Darkness. Infernity Decks are unlike any other Deck. While most Duelists like to have a lot of cards in their hands, Infernity Duelists need to have no cards in their hands in order for them to use their best cards!
Most Infernity cards will only work for a Duelist with no cards in his hand. That’s why the Infernity Decks you see in tournaments don’t usually run a lot of monsters. Since you can only Normal Summon one monster each turn, drawing too many can clog up a Duelist’s hand. Spells and Traps, however, can be Set face-down immediately so you never have to worry about them getting stuck in your hand.
Infernity Decks usually rely on getting Infernity Archfiend, Infernity Necromancer, and Infernity Beetle into the Graveyard to win. That’s why they run cards like Foolish Burial and Infernity Inferno to send those monsters from the Deck to the Graveyard. Infernity Inferno also helps Duelists discard the unwanted cards in their hands. Once a Duelist gets those 3 monsters into the Graveyard, he can use a single copy of Infernity Mirage or Infernity Launcher to win the Duel!

Use these cards to get your Infernity Monsters into the Graveyard!
Frog Decks got a big power boost from Ronintoadin, but they aren’t the only Deck that won big from it. Monarch Decks can use it too! While Treeborn Frog has been a near staple in almost every Monarch Deck in existence for the past few years, none of the other Frog cards really helped until Swap Frog from Stardust Overdrive.
If you’re looking to make the next top Deck, there are a few things that it should be able to do. Depending on what cards you’re playing with, some of these tips might not apply to your Deck. For example, if you’re playing with Watt monsters you aren’t going to be Summoning a lot of powerful monsters to take down your opponent’s Life Points. For most Decks though, here are some examples of things you should keep in mind as you build your Deck.
A vast majority of Duels are won by bringing your opponent’s Life Points down from 8000 to zero. Some Decks don’t need to do that but most of them do so that’s what we’re going to focus on. The most common way of reducing your opponent’s Life Points is to attack them with powerful monsters, and you can deal more damage to your opponent by attacking directly when they control no monsters.
Dueling is a little more complicated than that though, as both players can use Spells and Traps to make themselves stronger, and weaken the opponent. Usually, if a player controls no Spells and Traps, they’ve got no way of stopping attacks, so every Deck needs to have a way to get rid of opposing Spells and Traps. Finally, your opponent will be trying to Summon as many powerful monsters as you are, so you’ll need to protect yours with your own Spell and Trap Cards.
