It's Saturday here at Comic-Con, and the already gigantic crowds have swelled in size to truly epic proportions. It's amazing walking around and seeing all the great gamers, comic lovers, and anime fanatics. And there's a lot of buzz around the Konami booth, with terrific Yu-Gi-Oh! fans loving the demos ... more

It's Saturday here at Comic-Con, and the already gigantic crowds have swelled in size to truly epic proportions. It's amazing walking around and seeing all the great gamers, comic lovers, and anime fanatics. And there's a lot of buzz around the Konami booth, with terrific Yu-Gi-Oh! fans loving the demos of our twin upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! titles, 5D's Duel Transfer for Wii and 5D's Tagforce 5 for PSP. Lots of smiles from the players as they finally relinquish the controls.

And there's also a lot of people having fun with our mobile line-up: One mother & her kid were laughing out loud playing Frogger on the iPad, and a teen was locked in concentration playing MLB Power Pros Touch 2010. He had a few strike outs, then finally blasted a triple and was pumped.

More buzz around Otomedius Excellent, a great upcoming side-scrolling shooter in the Gradius style. Otomedius is really popular in Japan for both its gameplay and beautiful heroines, so fans here at the show are psyched it's coming!

Our METAL GEAR SOLID Cos-Play was AWESOME! MGS fans showed up in amazing full gear, with intricate costumes, great impersonations, and legit series knowledge. The attention to detail was truly fantastic.

Mr. Kojima was terrific too, really showing his appreciation for the contestants and taking the time to judge each one thoroughly while expressing his gratitude for their efforts. Each contest had their time in the spotlight, and did not fail to impress. It was truly a great atmosphere with tons of applause, laughter, and MGS appreciation had by all.

The finalists were awarded super-rare, limited-edition MGS posters & figurines autographed and presented by Mr. Kojima himself. And, here's the best part, the top 2 winners got...wait for it ... a trip to the Tokyo Game Show to compete against Japanese MGS cos-players!!! So, so cool. The winners were literary in happiness shock--with wide eyes, open mouths, and then HUGE smiles! It was a seriously feel-good moment.

Blogging to you live from our Hideo Kojima event. It's Friday, July 23, and we're here at Comic-Con in San Diego at the Marriott Hotel & Marina. From 11am to 3pm, legendary METAL GEAR SOLID creator Hideo Kojima is signing autographs (bring your MGS games, gear, or anything you want to be signed!) and then judging the costumes of our terrific hardcore cos-play fans.

The atmosphere here is terrific! We had people lined up 2 hours early, camped out talking, playing MGS PEACE WALKER on their PSPs, and sharing great Konami stories. These early birds really have fantastic spirit.

We'd also like to briefly spotlight one outstanding fan in particular. Richard came all the way down from San Francisco just for this Kojima event. And he didn't just arrive, he showed up in amazingly authentic Old Snake gear a la MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. Richard was a dead ringer for Snake, and we salute him and all of the other great MGS fans who came decked out in their gear.

We're Here! Yes, everyone, it's official, Konami has arrived at Comic-Con and the crowds are crazy! For all our fantastic fans at home who can't join us in person, picture the biggest crowd you've ever seen...and then double it. People are everywhere. Our Hideo Kojima autograph signing & cos-play event tomorrow is going to be mobbed! And you'll be happy to know that some of us arrived here at the convention center "Snake-style"--stealthily snagging a camouflage-covered pedicab driver to bypass the taxi lines and sneak around the traffic barriers to the mammoth convention center's back door. Snaaaake!
